PR Newswire

Three-day immersive program will be hosted by CMU's Tepper School of Business

PITTSBURGH, March 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Global management consulting partnership Kearney and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) today announced the launch of their collaborative AI Executive Program, a pioneering educational initiative designed to equip senior business leaders with the strategic and practical knowledge needed to drive AI transformation in their organizations.

Hosted jointly by the Tepper School of Business and Kearney, the three-day immersive program brings together CMU's world-renowned artificial intelligence expertise with Kearney's century-long business consulting experience to address a crucial challenge facing today's executives: transforming AI potential into tangible business value.

"In today's rapidly evolving business landscape, artificial intelligence has moved beyond technological novelty to become a critical driver of competitive advantage," said Ben Smith, Chair, Digital & Analytics, and Member of the Board of Directors, Kearney. "This program fills a crucial gap in executive education by combining academic rigor with practical business application. It takes a unique lens to reengineering the corporation using AI that links how leadership must systematically change to make AI-led disruptions a true driver for business value while navigating complex technological, operational, and ethical considerations."

The curriculum features distinguished faculty including Sean Ammirati, Professor of Entrepreneurship; Roni Rosenfeld, Professor of Machine Learning and Computer Science; and Alex John London, K&L Gates Professor of Ethics and Computational Technologies. The program focuses on three key areas:

  • Strategic AI leadership: developing frameworks for evaluating AI opportunities across business areas and managing organizational change
  • Disruptive value innovation: mastering practical approaches for implementing AI initiatives that deliver measurable business impact
  • Responsible transformation: building accountability systems and human-centric approaches for sustainable AI adoption

The program, which will rotate between Pittsburgh and Dubai, includes hands-on workshops, AI lab site visits to see robotics innovation in action, in-depth discussions with AI pioneers from across sectors, and interactive sessions designed to help executives move beyond the hype cycle to focus on concrete strategies that translate AI ambition and capabilities into actionable advantage. Participants will work with the innovative AI Value Catalyst framework to make strategic decisions about AI implementation and value capture.

"This partnership represents a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between technological innovation and business leadership," said Isabelle Bajeux-Besnainou, Dean, Tepper School of Business. "Together with Kearney, our goal is to empower executives with both the technical fluency and strategic insight needed to lead AI-driven transformation. Through a carefully curated blend of academic insights, immersive experiences, and practical applications, executives will explore how leading organizations leverage AI to reshape traditional business models, accelerate innovation cycles, and drive operational excellence."

The inaugural program will be held at the Tepper School of Business on Carnegie Mellon University's campus in Pittsburgh, PA from March 10–13, with the second taking place in Dubai from May 11–14. Click here for more information.
